Rare WJ Reeves Antique Watercolour Box Circa 1820

Georgian Mahogany Watercolour box by WJ Reeves and Sons

This dates from between 1818 -1829

The main label refers to the previous partnership of

Reeves and Woodyer (1800 – 1816) who were in partnership and operated together for a short time. I believe that William John Reeves carried on using some of the old stock of boxes with labels already in the lid as all the paints are marked WJ Reeves and Sons 

as do the 2 other labels inside the box

The paints are all original with just the flake white missing

Original marble palette and other chinaware in the lower drawer.

One of the glass water pots has been replaced in the past.

This is a truly rare and unique paint box having survived over 200 years
